Fulfillment.
Dear Christian Mothers,
Have you ever been guilty of trying to seek fulfillment in people or achievements? Maybe it's fulfillment in what other people think of you as a Mother. Just recently I allowed myself to be put in an unintentional situation. I was hurt and broken. I tried to grasp the nature of the situation but was coming up short. I was blaming myself for being an imperfect Mother and for my children being imperfect. My spiritual warfare had hit a new height. Satan was on a mission to break me down. I truly believe God puts valleys in our lives so we seek Him more diligently. When you have that personal relationship with Jesus you can't help but run TOWARDS him. As I sat in my room while the children were napping I pulled my Bible out and my "Jesus Calling" devotion. I had not read it yet that day and was craving time with my Lord to sort out some things. Let me just tell you that GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. He gave me what I needed. He fulfilled that emptiness I was feeling. He showed me that this nonsense doesn't matter. Below is what I read with tearfilled eyes. All I can do is bask in His glory.
"REMEMBER THAT YOU LIVE IN a fallen world: an abnormal world tainted by sin. Much frustration and failure result from your seeking perfection in this life. There is nother perfect in this world except Me. That is why closeness to Me satisfies deep yearnings and fills you with joy."
"I have planted longing for perfection in every human heart. This is a good desire, which I alone can fulfill. But most people seek this fulfillment in other people and earthly pleasures or achievements. Thus they create idols, before which they bow down. I will have no other gods before Me! Make Me the deepest desire of your heart. Let Me fulfill your uearning for perfection." Jesus Calling
After reading this short, concise excerp from "Jesus Calling" there was scripture to follow. Even though one verse was listed I decided to read the whole chapter. Once again my socks were knocked off at God's ever so perfect timing. Psalm 37 was refreshing. It is a must read for those of you experiencing opposition in this world. This chapter showed my that even in my imperfection as a Mom, sister, daughter, wife and friend, if I choose to seek my fulfillment in the Lord He will prosper me. The only thing that matters is my personal relationship with my Jesus. God knows everyone's hearts and intentions. He wants us to crawl to Him broken so He can pick us up and hug us and kiss us and tell us to "LET GO AND LET GOD." Sometimes it can be easier said than done. But the fulfillment you get when you give it to your Heavenly Father is far greater than this "abnormal world tainted by sin".
"Your more than enough for me, Jesus your all I need."
Psalm 37:37 states: "Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; for the future of that man is peace."
