Yesterday Bailey and Boone's cousins came over to play! What a fun time they all had together.

A Time of Brokeness.
A couple of days ago I was introduced to a blog of a mother whose child was dying of a rare skin disease. As I read her blog and her journey with her son I couldn't help but start sobbing. I looked at the pictures of this sweet little boy (not yet 2 years of age) and the skin disease and all I saw was his happy smile. For almost two years he endured pain and suffering, blisters and open wounds. Yet, he fought as hard as he could to communicate and smile and play to the extent that he could. Two days ago he went to be with Jesus. He has no more pain. He doesn't have to be bandaged everyday. He can now walk and talk with Jesus. His Mom, through grief, knows that he is now healed.
It is so very easy to take our life for granted. It is easy to take the healthy lives of our children for granted. Jesus suffered for us. He bled and died for us. He gave us hope and prepared a place for us through pain and suffering. Should we not fall on our faces in gratitude for all He has given us? Sometimes it is more easy to focus on the things we don't have or the things that are going wrong in our eyes. Instead, I am challenged to focus on the positive in my life. The health of not only me but my husband and children. The blessings that God has given us. It reminds me of an old hymn we use to sing in church. "Count your blessings name them one by one. Count your blessings see what God has done."
I am so thankful that my children are alive and healthy. I NEVER want to take that for granted. Thank you, Jesus, for showing me that the only way to live this life is to rejoice and give honor to You for what You have blessed me with than to grumble about things that do not give glory to your Kingdom.
